Our story

A pink box, a good coffee machine, and a whole lot of heart.

Sejal's opened its window on Saturday 5 October 2024, a converted shipping container painted bright pink from top to bottom. Anyone who turned up to the opening dressed in pink got their coffee on the house.

The pink is there for a reason. The shop is built around supporting women, and five cents from every coffee sold goes to the McGrath Foundation.

Sejal came to Australia at 16, on her own. What mattered most then still sits at the centre of the shop now.

β€œThe most important thing to me was the supportive community.”
Sejal, speaking to The Examiner

The coffee

Every cup gets the art.

Hearts, rosettes, ferns and the odd sweet swoosh. Regulars say they sometimes walk away with a little affirmation written on the side of the cup too.

Why it's pink

5cfrom every coffee.

Every coffee sold at Sejal's puts five cents towards the McGrath Foundation, which supports people going through breast cancer. Your morning flat white is doing a little bit of good before you've even had a sip.

McGrath Foundation

5 cents from every coffee, every day.

At the window

Come for the coffee. Stay for the chat.

Reviewers keep coming back to the same thing: quick, friendly, and always up for a chat. The window opens at 5:45am on weekdays, so it's an easy first stop on the way to work.

Early starts

Monday to Friday from 5:45am, weekends from 7am (Sat) and 8am (Sun).

Quick & friendly

Served from the window, easy to get to on Hobart Road.

Even the biscuits are pink.

β€œCrazy bright Pink.”

β€œVery pleasant looking container. Crazy bright Pink 🩷. Stands out in a drab neighbourhood. Right next door to a laundromat opposite a BP service station. The lady who made my coffee ( barista) was very interesting to talk to and chatty. She seemed to love her job and was very good. She made up a design that had a sweet swoosh of a heart...It was actually very artistic. Then while waiting for the coffee I had a lovely fresh croissant. There was a few options and I chose the plain croissant. It was super and very Parisian. My flat white coffee was wonderful. A lovely blend. A DeLacey coffee. Strongly recommend a visit in Youngstown.”
